Course Curriculum

Module 1: Introductions & Personal Info
In this module, students learn to introduce themselves, ask basic personal information, and interact politely in a hospital. Grammar focus: verb to be, personal pronouns, simple questions. Objetivo del modulo: Students will be able to introduce themselves, confirm identity, and give/understand simple instructions using the verb to be and personal pronouns in short, clear sentences.

Module 2: Hospital Departments
In this module, students learn names of hospital departments and how to give and understand simple directions inside the hospital. Grammar focus: There is/There are, prepositions of place, and articles (a/an/the). En este módulo, los estudiantes aprenden los nombres de departamentos del hospital y cómo dar y entender indicaciones simples dentro del hospital. Gramática: There is/There are, preposiciones de lugar y artículos (a/an/the).

Module 3: Daily Routines at Work
In this module, students learn to describe and ask about daily routines in a hospital environment. Grammar focus: simple present tense (affirmative, negative, questions) and adverbs of frequency (always, usually, sometimes, never). En este módulo, los estudiantes aprenden a describir y preguntar sobre rutinas diarias en un entorno hospitalario. Gramática: presente simple (afirmativo, negativo, preguntas) y adverbios de frecuencia (siempre, usualmente, a veces, nunca).

Module 4: Body Parts
In this module, you will learn the basic body parts in English and how to use have got, this/that, and singular/plural nouns. These skills will help you describe symptoms and understand patients’ conditions in a hospital environment. En este módulo aprenderás las partes básicas del cuerpo en inglés y cómo usar have got, this/that, y los sustantivos singulares y plurales. Estas habilidades te ayudarán a describir síntomas y entender las condiciones de los pacientes en un entorno hospitalario. Objetivo del módulo: By the end of this module, you will be able to: • Identify and name basic body parts in English. • Use have got to talk about conditions or symptoms. • Correctly use this and that. • Recognize and form singular and plural nouns in a medical context.

Module 5: Common Symptoms
In this module, you will learn to identify and describe common symptoms in English. You will practice using simple present with “have” (e.g., I have a fever) and Wh-questions (e.g., What hurts?). These skills are essential for asking and understanding patient concerns clearly. En este módulo aprenderás a identificar y describir síntomas comunes en inglés. Practicarás el uso del presente simple con “have” (ej. I have a fever) y las preguntas Wh- (ej. What hurts?). Estas habilidades son esenciales para preguntar y entender las preocupaciones de los pacientes con claridad.

Module 6: Vital Signs
In this module, students learn to ask about and check vital signs. Grammar focus: yes/no questions, imperatives. En este módulo, los estudiantes aprenden a preguntar y revisar signos vitales. Gramática: preguntas de sí/no, imperativos.

Module 7: Medical Equipment
In this module, students learn the names of common medical equipment. Grammar focus: demonstratives (this/that/these/those), countable and uncountable nouns. En este módulo, los estudiantes aprenden los nombres del equipo médico común. Gramática: demostrativos (este/ese/estos/esos), sustantivos contables e incontables.

Module 8: Basic Instructions to Patients.
In this module, students learn how to give basic instructions to patients in English. Grammar Focus: Imperatives and Use of ‘Can’ or ‘Can’t’. En este módulo, los estudiantes aprenden como dar instrucciones básicas en Inglés a pacientes. Gramática: Los imperativos y el uso del ‘Poder’ y ‘No poder’.

Module 9: Food and nutrition
In this module, students learn to talk about food, nutrition, and patients’ preferences in a hospital. Grammar focus: like/love/hate + noun/verb-ing, some/any, Do you want…? En este módulo, los estudiantes aprenden a hablar sobre alimentos, nutrición y preferencias de los pacientes en un hospital. Gramática: like/love/hate + sustantivo/verbo-ing, some/any, Do you want…?

Module 10: Daily Routines in Nursing
In this module, students learn to describe daily nursing routines, talk about time, and explain activities step by step. Grammar focus: Simple Present for routines, frequency adverbs, telling the time. En este módulo, los estudiantes aprenden a describir rutinas diarias de enfermería, hablar sobre el tiempo y explicar actividades paso a paso. Gramática: presente simple para rutinas, adverbios de frecuencia, decir la hora.
