Que es y como se usa
Yes/No questions in the Present Simple are a type of question where the possible answers are only “Yes” or “No.” Las preguntas de Sí/No en presente simple son un tipo de pregunta donde las posibles respuestas solo pueden ser “Sí” o “No.”
They are very important in communication because they help us check information quickly, confirm something, or ask about routines and states. Son muy importantes en la comunicación porque nos ayudan a verificar información rápidamente, confirmar algo o preguntar sobre rutinas y estados.
We use them to ask about: Las usamos para preguntar sobre:
- Habits and routines → Do you check the patient’s vital signs every morning? Hábitos y rutinas → ¿Revisas los signos vitales del paciente todas las mañanas?
- General truths or facts → Do I need a thermometer to take the temperature? Verdades generales o hechos → ¿Necesito un termómetro para tomar la temperatura?
- Health or emotional states → Do you feel dizzy? Do we need to wait for the results? Estados de salud o emocionales → ¿Te sientes mareado? ¿Necesitamos esperar los resultados?
- Responsibilities or actions → Do I take the patient’s blood pressure? Do we measure the pulse now? Responsabilidades o acciones → ¿Tomo la presión arterial del paciente? ¿Medimos el pulso ahora?
- 👉 The structure is always: Do + subject (I / we / you) + base verb + object?
➡️ 👉 La estructura siempre es: Do + sujeto (I / we / you) + verbo base + complemento? - With 1st person (I / we): We ask about ourselves or our group.

These questions are very common in healthcare because doctors, nurses, and patients often need quick, clear confirmation. Estas preguntas son muy comunes en el contexto de la salud porque médicos, enfermeras y pacientes necesitan confirmación rápida y clara.

What is it and what is the use:
Que es y como se usa
The imperative is a grammar form we use to give instructions, commands, advice, or requests. El imperativo es una forma gramatical que usamos para dar instrucciones, órdenes, consejos o solicitudes.
It is very common in daily life and in healthcare when speaking to patients. Es muy común en la vida diaria y en el contexto de la salud cuando se habla con pacientes.
- We use the base form of the verb (no subject, no “to”). Usamos la forma base del verbo (sin sujeto, sin “to”).
- It is direct and simple. Es directo y sencillo.
- The subject “you” is understood, but not written. El sujeto “tú/usted” está implícito, pero no se escribe.
We use imperatives to: Usamos el imperativo para:
- Give instructions: Take a deep breath. Dar instrucciones: Respira profundo.
- Give advice: Rest and relax. Dar consejos: Descansa y relájate.
- Give warnings: Don’t stand up too fast. Dar advertencias: No te levantes demasiado rápido.
- Make polite requests: Please sit down. Hacer solicitudes corteses: Por favor, siéntese.
